Our Story

Back in the early 20th Century

Our history began in an elegant café in Parma. It was the early 20th century, and to everyone it was a fashionable meeting-place in which to taste excellent gelato to the music played by a small orchestra.
Each flavour was a symphony, hiding a secret note within: the creaming technique. A true art that, together with a great gelato-making tradition, gave each flavour its legendary creamy character.
That tradition lives on today as an essential part of our history, the history of Antica Gelateria del Corso.

A story to Savour:

In that historic café in Parma's Piazza Garibaldi, a young man learnt the basics of the art of Ice-cream making, for which he had a special passion. After quickly mastering his trade he soon realized that his Ice-cream was so good that he could not meet demand, so he opened a large artisan shop.

Over time, it turned into a small industry, yet his Ice-cream would never change: exclusively natural, carefully chosen high quality ingredients are used, such as Italian-Made milk and cream, and home-made traditional products with no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives, with special attention given to the appearance and presentation.

The Antica Gelateria del Corso Ice-cream met with immediate success and all thanks to word-of-mouth. The most highly skilled Ice-cream makers in Italy were hired and their first creations were: the "Tartufo Bianco" Ice-cream with a coffee centre, the cocoa "Tartufo Nero" Ice-cream with a creamy centre, the fruit sorbets wrapped in fruit skins and many more.

Today Antica Gelateria del Corso continues to reinvent, renew and perfect the best traditional Italian recipes with the same enthusiasm it had all those years ago, producing an emotion that everyone can experience and share, the taste of a unique Gelato, the pride of a city with a strong vocation for pleasure.
